Wherever you come from, and how old you may be, after a week or two a float in this scenic wonderland, you will become one heart with the beauty and serenity of nature. On a crewed yacht, your every need is attended to by a professional crew and your days are filled with panoramas of coast and sea, fascinating ancient ruins and quaint fishing villages. During the day, it cruises for a few hours and sail if the wind allows. Closer to lunch or dinner, it approach the land or drop anchor in a solitary bay, along side a small village or off an island. At every stop, and there will be at least two per day, there is opportunity to swim, fish, snorkel, windsurf, sunbath, take a trip a shore or just read under the shade of the sun awning. The focus of this holiday is on relaxation and recreation. It can be as relaxing or as energetic experience as desired. THE CREW For the type of the Blue Voyage it offers, you don't have to hold a skipper's license no do you need to have previous sailing experience. It provides you with a traditional wooden yacht which you charter with crew. Modern gulets are comfortably equipped with most home comforts, and encourages a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for all the passengers with a friendly relationship with the crew. Your captain and crew are experienced seafarers, usually local Turkish people, who know cruising grounds in and out and will share their knowledge, skills and local lore with you. The crew of, 3 – 4 serve you on board as a captain, cook and general assistant. The captain and the crew will do all the cooking and cleaning for you, relaxing, swimming and sunbathing are your responsibility! Gulet's galley is always well equipped and the cook takes pride in creating tempting dishes of Turkish and international origin. You will be expected to fill in a “preference sheet” to list what types of food you like to eat, whether you have any allergies and if you have any special dietary requirements. The cook will then try to fulfill your requirements as far as possible; although in Turkey some ingredients are just not available. Just as you will let your cook know what appeals to you in the way of food, you are wise to let your captain know what interests you a shore .He expert advice will enable you with satisfying itinerary with all the right ingredients Your captain will see to it that your cruise moves along at a good pace. He decides on departure times and meal times according to the composition of the group, the day of the week and weather conditions. The captain is responsible for the safety of the vessel and its passengers and has the right to alter the itinerary when necessary. The crew aboard Gulets and yachts often do not have a foreign language mastered, but they almost always know a few “every – day” phrases and are able to understand almost all requests. If you are planning to charter a Turkish vessel and require a member of your crew to speak good English, you might be advised to hire the services of a local tour guide for the duration of your cruise. Apart from giving you a better insight as to the Turkish way of life, any shore excursions to archeological sites are sure to be more rewarding with a guide along. MEALS ON BOARD Cruising embodies the best in all aspects of life: rolling waves, clear sea air, sunshine, exotic ports, excellent service, exciting entertainment, and gourmet food! The food aboard gulets is legendary, for its abundance, presentation and palatability. The rear deck of the Gulet is the lounge and dining area will be served freshly prepared breakfast, lunch and dinner meals included grilled meats, fish dishes a variety of fresh salads and fruits and Turkish specialties. You will never go hungry aboard a gulet! In most of the private charters it offers, meals are fully included (except soft and alcoholic beverages), served three times at the day. Introducing Turkey

The Republic of Turkey, which is located in an area where the Asian, European and African continents come very close to each other, is surrounded by Georgia, Armenia, Nakhichevan (Azerbaijan) and Iran to the east, Bulgaria and Greece to the west and Syria and Iraq to the south. Turkey is a passageway for the old Asian Turkish cultures to reach Europe due to her location and is at the same time the window of the west opening to the east.Turkey's coastlines, which encompass her on three sides with the Mediterranean Sea to the south, the Black Sea to the north and the Aegean Sea to the west, make the country not only a neighbor to the nearby regions, but to the entire world as well. Turkey has become the center of the great trade and migration routes due to these long shores and her place as a bridge between continents. The area of the Republic of Turkey is 814,578 km2. A total of 3 percent of the area is located in Thrace on the European continent. The remaining 97 percent, which is located on the Asian continent, is usually called Anatolia.

CLIMATE

In spite of Turkey being located in a moderate climate belt, due to the fact that the mountains are parallel to the coasts and the diversification of the surface morphology, differences in climate are observed among the regions. The coastal regions have a moderate maritime climate while the internal regions surrounded by mountains have a continental climate. The Mediterranean Region which is under the influence of the Mediterranean climate, has hot and arid summers and mild and rainy winters. The Mediterranean climate also manifests itself in the Aegean Region and in the south of the Marmara Region. The Black Sea Region is dominated by a more moderate and rainy maritime climate. In the interior regions, the summers are hot and slightly rainy and a steppe climate is observed in the winters, which are cold and snowy. In the Eastern Anatolia Region, the summers are cool and the winters are very cold and snowy. In the Southeastern Anatolia Region, while the summers are hot and arid, the winters are not very cold.

GEOGRAPHY

The mountains in Turkey cover an extensive area, but in contrast to this, there are also many areas where there are various plains, plateaus and depressions. This characteristic varies the climate on the one hand, and influences settlements and economic life, on the other. Three sides of Turkey are surrounded by seas. For that reason, Turkey is connected to the oceans with the seaways in spite of the fact that the country is at the center of several continental masses. The Marmara Sea and the Straits are very important water passages which open the Black Sea to the outside world. The Marmara Sea, which is located completely within the national borders, opens to the Black Sea via the İstanbul Straits and to the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean Sea via the Çanakkale (Dardanelles) Straits. Especially, the Aegean and Western Mediterranean shores in Turkey are indented and numerous bays are located in these places. This attribute of the coasts decreases towards the east of the Mediterranean.

What is Gulet ? Gulet in Brief

Over the years gulets have evolved from traditional fishing and cargo vessels into their present profile of a broad beam and wide deck. Constructed mainly in the shipyards of Bodrum, Marmaris, Bozburun and Istanbul, and along the Black Sea Coast, the boats are equipped with motors as well as fully functional rigging. The number of passengers a gulet carries depends on the boat’s size, although most of them accommodate between eight and twelve people. These vessels offer passengers separate accommodations, and chartering one includes services and entertainment.
